Important Changes to 2016 Mold Remediation Regulations

 In Inspections, Mold, Regulations

2016 Mold Remediation Regulations from New York State Department of Labor:
On January 29, 2015, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed a bill requiring that assessors and contractors in the mold remediation industry and their workers are properly trained and licensed. Accordingly, the licensing requirements for mold contractors, assessors, and workers take effect on January 1, 2016.

What does this mean?

Once the law goes into effect in New York State, you should ensure that your mold inspector and mold remediation contractors are licensed to perform the work, otherwise both the homeowner and contractor could face fines from the state.
